Math Club Stupidity

So, they put a sign for a math club event on an area where no one can get it down, easily. However did this was either very tall or just otherwise very bored.

Elevator Outage

Not to be outdone by having a single elevator failure yesterday, now both elevators of the RBN are offline. Stuck on the first floor. This is too funny. I for one believe with the severity of these outages, about 1 or 2 a month, we should get this elevator recalled or be reimbursed. The elevator company should give back every cent this elevator cost and provide free service until it is repaired. This is simply unacceptable.

Normalcy

A sense of normalcy is back now, in that there are fewer people here today from what I have seen so far. For those of you who don't know UT Tyler's drop date was last Friday. If you're failing at this point, take the F, because that's all you'll get unless your professor is kind and will let you get an I to retake it for a grade. I digress. Beyond that UTTPD, blocked off half the parking lot in front of the Ratliff building today, not that I mind, I don't drive, but they blocked off almost all of the handicapped spots as well. Why on earth would you want to prevent the handicapped from parking? That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Again, normalcy though because if there is one thing UT Tyler never ceases to do it is make wonder who people can be so dumb.
I'll be honest too, IMHO, for some reason as people get more advanced degrees they tend to get a little stupider, not necessarily all of them, but definitely a majority percentage. Especially certain professors in the College of Business, although the Department of Computer Science definitely has a few interesting faculty members as well.

Campus Computing

Because I frequent the Campus Computing Center at such irregular intervals, or never, I found out yesterday that they had pc envy and had to rip the specs of Computer Science's new rigs because they had to have equal machines to our own.

A word however, their image is faulty, leaving personally identifiable information about the creator of the image, but I won't say anything more. Regardless a sloppy job none the less.

Only two more weeks of ignorant religiosity

So, a lady comes into the store today and asks for some wooden blocks that have "I love Jesus" written on them. We sold the aforementioned product, around Easter. Currently in the same spot are small, plastic molded Jack-O-Lanterns. So when I explained to the lady, that yes they used to be there, but that was back in Easter and if it had still been there would have been packed up anyway, because everything is being moved for our Halloween stock, she replies, "Yes to make room for this satanic stuff." Now, I am sorry, but how are small plastic molded Jack-O-Lanterns satanic? How is Halloween satanic?

A quote from Wikipedia: "Some Christian churches commonly offer a fall festival or harvest-themed alternative to Halloween. Most Christians ascribe no significance to Halloween, treating it as a purely secular entity devoted to celebrating "imaginary spooks" and handing out candy. Halloween celebrations are common among Catholic parochial schools throughout North America, and in Ireland, the Catholic Church sees it as a "harmless ancient custom."[cite this quote] Father Gabriele Amorth, a Vatican-appointed exorcist in Rome, has said, "[I]f English and American children like to dress up as witches and devils on one night of the year that is not a problem. If it is just a game, there is no harm in that."[31] Most Christians hold the view that the tradition is far from being "satanic" in origin or practice and that it holds no threat to the spiritual lives of children: being taught about death and mortality, and the ways of the Celtic ancestors actually being a valuable life lesson and a part of many of their parishioners' heritage.[30] A response among some fundamentalists in recent years has been the use of Hell houses or themed pamphlets (such as those of Jack T. Chick) which attempt to make use of Halloween as an opportunity for evangelism.[32] Some consider Halloween to be completely incompatible with the Christian faith, due to "its preoccupation with the occult in symbols, masks and costumes," its origin as a Pagan "festival of the dead", and the fact that it is also observed, albeit in a non-traditional form, by Satanists. In more recent years, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston has organised a "Saint Fest" on the holiday.[32]"

So anyway, this lady was obviously confused and a little ignorant, but I would expect no more from the religious zealots in Tyler Texas.

I don't know, my two cents. Now I am glad I have only two weeks left. YAY!!

Totally Gay UT Tyler, Totaly Gay

SwoopOneCard? Okay, so lets see, over half of college students are in debt, way over their head when they graduate college. Since most of them get 3-4 credit card offers every day. And now the University of Texas at Tyler wants to give every student a Master Card that will hold their refunds, as well as other stuff.

Why? Apparently sending checks, doesn't work?? Also apparently doing a direct deposit doesn't work?? I mean, I though they did since that is what they had been doing these ohh, last three years since I have been here, but now, instead they want to give you a credit card. Well I don't want your God Damn credit card. I want my money in my bank account to spend how I like. I don't want no damn Swoop One Card. OK!!

You Suck!!

=W=

I don't have a clue

I'm so very tired. It's almost all the time now.
