Work Life Home Life

So, I have had my current job for 5 weeks now. Don't get me wrong, I really do like it, but I can see where it is already taking its toll. Currently I work really late and that seems to be putting a strain on my home life. The only time I really have to spend with my wife is the weekends. I suppose in hindsight I should have realized this would happen, however I am not that bright. Juggling work and home life is hard. I simply wish there was more time. I feel especially bad because I sometimes don't feel like helping around the house as much. I mean I still have time to do stuff in the mornings, but sometimes I would much rather just watch The Price Is Right and relax for a little. I just don't know if that is selfish of me to do. I just don't know what I am going to do. I think I just need to make more of an effort at everything, because work has made me tired and less willing to do pretty much anything. I do hope that overtime I get used to these hours. I think I will.

America, get off your ass!!

Listen Up America

We need to have a talk America.  Some several millions of you are currently unemployed, and I understand I've been there.  However after watching and reading a lot of news I have noticed that American's don't seem to be trying hard enough.  Why do I say this?  Well frankly, there are jobs out there.  However, you, for reasons that I don't understand, are too prideful or perhaps stupid to take these jobs because these are jobs that "historically" immigrants have taken.  Sure they don't pay much, the hours might suck and the job itself might suck, but you can't say that there isn't work out there.  Sometimes you need to start at the bottom to work your way up.  More importantly sometime you just need to get a freaking job.  America the problem is you aren't living within your means.  You think, hey what if I get this brand new car and this brand new house and I will pay other stuff on my numerous credit cards.  You take the easy way out.  Most Americans don't even have a savings account.  Or other means of saving money.  Hiding it under a mattress doesn't really count.  Everything that's has happened you have done to yourself.  Stop blaming your problems on everyone else.  Especially the government or wall street or the banks.  Everyone is equally in this blame together.  Listen up the only way America is going to get better is if we can make people understand two things.  1) Money isn't everything - really it isn't you can't take it with you when you die and guess what you're gonna die one day and it could even be tomorrow.  When that happens what should it matter how much you have or what you have.  What matters is how you lived your life and the experiences you had.  2) Having said that, learn to save money and live within or beneath your means.  Why not take the time to draw up a budget and figure out just where things are going wrong and then figure out how to make them right.  Sometimes that means getting or asking for help and there is nothing wrong with that.  Remember what I said earlier quit being prideful and/or stupid.  There is nothing wrong with asking for help.

That is all I have to say for now.

First Day Down 7 Weeks To Go

So, I had my first day orientation yesterday. It was pretty cool. Long, but I suppose necessary. You have to fill out a lot of paperwork and I guess now a days HR thinks they need to make it a fun experience in order to want people to work there. I can't blame them, a call center does not sound like the most fun job, but I think it will go well. Now I have to get used to working nights. Thankfully I'll only start off noon to 9, but after that I am going to be 1:30 to 10:30. Sure it is not the most glamorous time or job, but it is a good one, I think and more importantly it will pay the bills.

Well its summer

Well I know technically it is spring, but as far as I am concerned it is summer like weather right now in East Texas. Something I wasn't looking forward to, but have to accept.

House Shopping

We are now actively looking for houses in our area. However it may be a little while before we actually get one. Who knows. Either way it is going to be a fun process I am sure.

Easter: The Aftermath

So, we get there, to the church that I mentioned earlier.  We were supposed to be there by 1.  We got there like 5 minutes late.  While we were in the parking lot, not 2 minutes from getting our food on the tables, the lousy people inside couldn't even wait for us to say the blessing.  They went ahead and said the blessing and started scarfing down their gross ass food.  Which let me tell you, someone actually brought Meatloaf to Easter.  Meatloaf!?!  Anyway to give you an idea of how much these other people sucked.  While we were eating, several of those other people went bag with Styrofoam containers and started making to go boxes.  So how am I supposed to get seconds and thirds.  Also their food was SO gross.  We tried to only eat food prepared by people we knew.  There was some sort of potato salad there that looked like it came from one of those grocery store tubs.  They also had one of those frozen pies, that you just thaw and serve and some gross cupcakes.  Other than that it went okay.  It just took a while to get it all done.

Easter

So, right now it is raining.  This is bad.  We were supposed to go to someone's house, but the rain has made the roads impassable, apparently.  Although the people that live there were able to leave because of their magic car.  Then the backup location, they were very prepared, lost power.  So now everyone is unhappy because we have to have it in some church.  Seriously easter in a church?  Who heard of such a thing.  All kidding aside, no one knows what is going to happen and by all accounts tempers could flare.  It'll be loads of fun no doubt and to top it all off the weather is making it impossible to have the long standing tradition of the Easter egg hunt.  Seriously, rain on Easter?  Oh well, as long as I get to eat I don't care.  Oh and I made a quiche.  My first hand at one and it wasn't bad either.  Kind of fun.

I don't have a clue

I'm so very tired. It's almost all the time now.
