Toy Story 3

It was good.  Saw it at a matinee this morning.  Have to say 6.50 for a matinee ticket is a bit high Carmike.  Anyway it was a pretty good movie.  It does make one feel old.  I remember I was like 10 or so when the first one came out.  I have to say though what disappointed me were the previews.  Now being a kids movie all the previews were children oriented, but what bothered me was everything was "IN 3D".  Seriously shut up with the 3D noneses.  Not one of these films was shot in 3D.  They all have a few scenes of 3D rendering but should hardly be worth the $3 3D surchage I have to pay at the theatre.  If you're going to label a movie as "3D" I want EVERY SINGLE FRAME to be in 3 Dimensions.  Not just when something is flying by or jumping or blowing up.  By the way I saw Toy Story 3 in its non 3D version and I thought that was adequately sufficient. I don't think I really missed anything.  I have to say the story was pretty good and the little Night and Day Featurette at the beginning was cool.

Warehouse 13

Syfy did a good job with Warehouse 13 this season.  Can't wait to see what happens.

Time

Time is a funny thing. Its always there. Even if we forget about it, it doesn't forget about us. Even if we lose track of it, it certainly doesn't lose track of us. True, our concept of time is based on our experience here on this planet, in this solar system, in this galaxy, in the universe - but without it we'd be lost. Never knowing when anything is or was or will be. We can't try to live without it, because something always reminds us. Whether it is the sun, the moon, the stars, the sleepiness that overcomes you after being awake. Its always there. For some of us, time is so important. "Have to make every second count." "Time is money." "I don't have time for this." "Stop wasting your time on that." Yet for others time is as meaningless as they can make it. "I've got all the time in the world." "However long it takes." Time is the one thing that keeps us equal. The one thing that makes us sane and insane. Time is what we use to know when we were born. Time is what we use to know how long we've lived. Time is what they'll use to know when you died. Time is what they'll use to know how long you've lived. No one escape time. Eventually time catches up with you. Or perhaps you just catch up with time. Time is inexplicable sometimes. Some people have impeccable timing. Some people have terrible timing. Still others have no sense of time at all. Time is what we make of it. Time keeps us going. Without time, we wouldn't know if we were out of it. We wouldn't know if our time has come to end or our time is just beginning. Time gives things meaning, or maybe that is just the rationalization that we make ourselves believe, over time. The time we have is short. We should cherish the time we have. Some have an easier time than others. Others have a horrible time. Only time will tell if these are good times, bad times, times of war, times of peace, times of prosperity, times of joy, times of grief, times of hatred, times of love. Time is fleeting. Time is never still. Time marches on. All things must prove the test of time, but not all will pass, most will fail. Time is cruel. Time is every little moment you have. Even time will have an end, just as it had a beginning.

Arizona

WTH?

So now you're requiring people to carry Birth Certificates on them? Seriously? This thing is going to the Supreme Court I am sure and its going to get thrown out.

Now look I understand the whole immigration thing better than most, and frankly I don't care for illegal immigrants I think they should all be removed from the country, and do it the right way. Like what I am trying to do. However, at the same time, is this the best way? I mean all you're doing is going one step closer to creating a police state. A totalitarian regime that wants to control who lives in their land.

There has to be a compromise. I don't think this works and I for sure as hell don't believe in Amnesty. I say, if I am going to have to pay for this and do the paperwork, then hell so should they. Stand in line, fill out the forms. I think they're available in spanish. Me I have to read the English version.

This is a tricky subject and can only end badly. For the record, you're idiots. This might be an election year and the fact is the people you're ostricizing can't legally vote against you anyway, but their legal friends, relatives and neighbors sure can and I hope they do.

My Hamster is Fat

and I mean really Fat. He has a double chin, so Chelsea says. He got stuck in a tube earlier today and I had to disassemble his cage. Now I don't know what to do. What if he gets stuck in the middle of the night? I mean he could die in there. Of course then we'll just pay $10 for another so what does it matter?

Is it strange to like having a hamster as a pet? I mean there fairly easy maintenance, but only in that they don't do much. Of course my dog would much rather eat him, for reasons I don't quite understand. Also the hamster is about 1 and a half years old so how much more time can he have?

Oh well, until that time arises, I'm sure I'll have to rescue him again. Hamsters, they're hilarious. Buy one, but take care of it. Give it a good home.

Well I read through Chaper 1

I finished Chapter 1 the first day and haven't ready any since then, well I did read half of chapter 2, but fell asleep before I finished. I have to say I didn't learn too much I didn't already know, but there were a few small things in there that I didn't previously know, but well there are lots of things I don't know, so it isn't too much of a suprise is it?
For instance you can make any directory or directories locally or on a network share into a library for all files or any specific file type. Its actually pretty neat.
The other interesting thing is VHD boot. You can add a line to the bootload to load a VHD file as though it were a locally installed operating system. This could be useful for lab environments.
That was pretty much it for Chapter 1. I think I'll get through chapter 2 today and post what I find sometime later. So far I like this book. I just don't know if every chapter will be easy to read without yawning.

I don't have a clue

I'm so very tired. It's almost all the time now.
