Now, I don't mean to speak evil of the media, not that it really matters, but they really are trying to scare us to death.
Hurricane Rita is heading our way, though, I mean I am good deal inland, but it is still expected to be a Cat 1 when it gets to or near our area.
I don't know, perhaps I need to reconsider my earlier post about Global Warming?
Oh well, I don't expect anything bad to happen here, but further South, I can only hope people leave the affected areas.
edit 2:28 PM CST
Well looks like things may not be as bad as they seemed this morning, but the media is still over reacting to eveything. The media can sometimes be stupid and biased and this seems to be one of those times. However I won't say anything more.
Cheap Talk, throw your two cents in. Listen to what I have to say and you may actually enjoy yourself.

Volume, man, Volume
I am talking about sound not the term for capacity.
If your speakers are turned off, you can't hear anything.
Make sure that your speakers are turned on so you can hear things.
Hearing things is good especially when something has sound.
So crank it up, to a moderate level, so as to not disturb your neighbors, roomates, or whatever the case may be.

This equation can be used to determine the intensity of sound in terms of I expressed in decibels
Basically if the I or I0 is bigger than 0 than you should get some sound. Or so I think.
A bel (symbol B) is a unit of measure of rations, such as power levels and voltage levels.

Study....Study....Study
Seriously now, I know I am by far not the spokesperson for studying and things like that, but you should do it.
Studying helps you remember things. Seriously.
I don't really know what I am trying to get at, but I am gonna go back to watching TV.

Global Warming
Now look, as much as I would like to say that I agree with the whole idea that Global Warming is one major factor for the slew of tropical storms and hurricanes we have been happening lately I just can't rule out other factors.
One of these factors being sheer randomness. Somethings, just happen. Sure I can agree that something is off. I mean we've had 15 named storms since the hurricane season started last month. (At least that is what I think). That seems a little off to me, or that is to say unusual.
Oh, and yes I am aware of a recent article by The Independent that pretty much says the Global Warming is past the point of no return.
However, I feel that though it does deserve some merit can't be entirely true. Also, I wish to note that I personally find that most of the damage we have done to the earth was from the beginning of the industrial revolution to around the end of World War II. I may not have any scientfic proof to back it up, but it is just my opinion after all. Further, we can fix this, or so I believe. It will just take a few things to make that happen. First all developed and developing countries would need to sign the Kyoto Protocols, specifically India and China, and subsequently the United States.
Then other matters would need to occur. We would need to completely stop the use of Fossil Fuels. Nuclear power would still be acceptable, due to its inexpensive nature, compared to fossil fuels. Of course with nuclear things a working form of disposal would need to occur. That is, we can't just dump it under a mountain. Now to make up for the fossil fuels other means of powering things would need to be created. Currently, I find that Hydrogen is the best bet, since it just loves to burn. For instance, this article about a new way to store hydrogen is one possible solution.
Of course the greatest solution, though it would never work, would be a perpetual motion generator and/or nuclear fission. Either of these two would allow for theoritcally near infinite and cheap power on scale that no one has yet been able to find. But now I am delving into areas of thought I know nothing if anything about.
Well there go my two cents again. Save them for who knows, one day they may be worthless.

/ != \ that is forward slash does not equal backslash
Okay,so I am setting up my windows variant torrentflux server, don't ask, and I make a big screw up. When pointing to a directory I put it in with backslashes when it required forward slashed. AARRGGHH!!!
Anyway, I am an idiot. And yes, this makes a HUGE difference. I mean catastrophic fauilre HUGE.
So, I fixed that and had myself a good laugh.
Also, what is up with these hurricanes. God must be in one bitchy mood, maybe it is that time of month. HMM?!? I dunno. Anyway. Off I go to do something else that is stupid. Or do I? HMM.....

Folding@Home
Yet another shameless plug, but for a good cause.
For those not in the know, Folding@Home is a distributed computing project which studies protein folding, misfolding, aggregation, and related diseases. We use novel computational methods and large scale distributed computing, to simulate timescales thousands to millions of times longer than previously achieved. This has allowed us to simulate folding for the first time, and to now direct our approach to examine folding related disease. (I just pulled this from their site)
If that doesn't help, well then your probably shouldn't help them.
Anyway, it is a great idea, assuming you have a decent comp. Also, if you would be so kind, if you do do it, join team 33258. This is my Motherboards.org team. We want/need your help, maybe. It would be a good thing. Remember team 33258!
